Is there such as thing as a politically free education?

Has there ever been a time when an educational curriculum was completely free to teach an objective view of the world unencumbered by the politics of the state it is located?

When you say state, do you mean state as in one of 50, the United States, or any hypothetical government of a country? I hate to misread and answer an unasked question. The basic answer is no. After that, the acceptable degree of bias depends on specifics and is often very debatable. What bias, in particular, are we talking about?

I doubt it. One has to do a lot of work to learn w/o bias. It is quite tedious.

I recently had someone tell me I had been indoctrinated into liberal thinking by going to college. I found this quite humorous and ridiculous. If education leads to a liberal mindset that would lead me to strongly believe that a liberal mindset is the correct way of thinking.

There will always be bias in education, and in information in general, but educators must do their best to present as balanced a view as possible. Also, students themselves should be taught not to blindly accept whatever their teachers tell them to, but to recognize bias and form their own opinions. This will help them not only in the classroom, but when they read the news and other media. With all the information available at our fingertips, it is important for the next generation to have the ability to thoughtfully analyze sources--and that includes their teachers themselves.
