In today's paper was an article providing more information regarding the Muslim butchery of Christian's in Nigeria a couple days ago. It seems this slaughter was in 'retalitation' for Christian's attacking and murdering over 300 Muslim's around 3 months ago.

Now I haven't addressed how violent Christianity is. Suffice to say the actions of these 'believers' speaks volumns for itself. For those of you who are not in this fundamentalist category - you have 'other ways of inflicting your violence. Like an example? Ok...here goes..
The POPE - representing several humdred million followers in 2009 went to Africa and visited 6 countries. His primary subject in his speaches was: "DO NOT USE CONDOMS BECAUSE THEY CAUSE AIDS". Now literally millions of believers think this guy pisses Holy water. They refuse to use protection because "A man of God" tells us it's not Holy and/or correct. More babies are born - many are deliberately set up for starvation, AIDS and multiple other diseases for pre-mature deaths. This is Christianity's gift of 'polite violence' to the world. I could provide many many more examples but I know that holier-than-thou will-ever-possibly-be Christian's dare not ask for the truth. Most are plainly scared to death to ask real questions due to their upbringing (brain-washing). They have a GAWD compartment inside their brains - an infected closed circuit box that once the word GOD has entered...it closes up and then extra brain skin completely covers this insolence safety zone. No festering microbe of truth can enter this Holy boxed in compartment. THE THINKING HAS BEEN DONE...no need to inquire further or ask important questions. When the time is right - your church leaders will dispense all necessary information to you. Until then - shut up - believe - and praise Jesus!
Mickey Mouse's love is so great that Mickey Mouse gave Mickey Mouse's only son "Mickey Mouse JR) "UP" to an excruciating death on a cross so Mickey Mouse's blood would cover all our shortcomings and our relationship with Mickey Mouse could be restored.

In today's major newspapers there is another report of Muslim's being Muslim's. In central Nigeria - there apparently is a dividing line between the Muslim north and the Christian south. Muslim's welding machetes slaughtered more than 200 Christian's as they overran villages in this area. Many women and children were dead on the dusty streets. So - there we have another example of Muslim's doing exactly what their Holy book tells them to do. This isn't about Christian's. They have a completely different set of problems not yet discussed on this thread. Just saying.............

Your posting said that "Islam is a religion of peace. My point is that is certainly is NOT. If you would have stated that many Muslim's are peaceful - that would have been a fully 100% correct statement. The posting I did was to show exactly how Islam is when practiced as it is written. It's not a petty picture. Thank you very much!

But before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both young and old, all the people to the last man, surrounded the house; and they called to Lot, "Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us, that we may know them." Lot went out of the door to the men, shut the door after him, and said, "I beg you, my brothers, do not act so wickedly. Behold, I have two daughters who have not known man; let me bring them out to you, and do to them as you please; only do nothing to these men, for they have come under the shelter of my roof."

Ezekiel 25:17. "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."

A thousand shall flee at the threat of one; at the threat of five you shall flee, till you are left like a flagstaff on the top of a mountain, like a signal on a hill." (Isa 30:15-17)
Kind of sums up the human condition of running from absolutely nothing but our own manufactured fears until our final moment and people are left wondering just what all the kurfuffle was about. (What the abandoned battle-standard actually stood for -- factoring in it being a time when many conflicts and battles when un-recorded).
BTW, the same quote is found in both Matt 15 and Mk 8. A quote found verbatim in more than one Gospel is given extra weight by scholars. As in if two different sources deliver the same report.

"3:13 And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you."
(King James Bible, Exodus)
I guess this is more of a passage rather than a quote but it displays wonderfully the lack of imagination most people have when reading religious writings.
"3:1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: 3:2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
3:4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again."
(John)

For these sayings to work, the person has to be emotionally or financially healthy. If a person is emotionally or financially bankrupt- then he has nothing to give. Or in analogy to your quote: if a person has lost his own soul already, then all around there is no profit anyway and nothing he can do.

I think that your mind is revolving around you rfriend from a previous post here, isnt it? Honestly- I think you need to work on your own happiness before you can try to help others to find theirs. When you post questions asking others about suicidal thoughts- twice- then this means you have to work on yourself before you try to help others. And please Wolfson - read up on co-dependency. Did you come from an abusive childhood? ( Only answer tha if you want to. If not- then answer it to yourself.)
