@julesallyn eat, watch tv, homework, go outside, draw, and on some occasions write, go to sleep, and dream.

I would grab 2 ham and cheese sandwiches, and turn on the Xbox and play Call Of Duty.

It appears that last nights success was a total fluke. I tried again today, with the vinegar...it looked like a jelly fish swallowed a tangerine. I think it may be time for me to give up the obsession and come to terms with the reality that I may never master the fine art of poaching an egg. It was still delicious though! :)

Can't read - get too interested and finish it. Can't cook - need to get off my feet even if I don't sleep or my feet will be swollen next day. Usually visit SP for a while and then play some mindless games. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

As a fellow insomniac, I understand some of the boredom. I'm a humanities major, philosophy minor so I like to think, and hopefully you do, too since you have more time than most in which to think about things. One thing that's hard to actually start but good once you get into it is just reading. Find a topic you want to know more about and really apply your mind to the subject. You'd be surprised at the good results it has in passing the time and in interesting conversations once everyone else is awake, too. I've also tried new hobbies or challenges...you can look up how to do pretty much anything on youtube...wood working, oragami, etc. Also, a lot of gyms these days are open 24/7 so if you prefer a physical challenge, that could be an awesome use of time and then all the machines will be open, too.

I like to take advantage of the time, when I can discipline my mind to concentrate, to think about things that matter and decide what's important and true.
I hope that helps or spawns other ideas!

I try to take advantage of my loopy night-time thoughts by writing music or drawing pictures.

Congrats on the egg Jules. Did you also have the worlds best English muffin, Canadian bacon, and Hollandaise Sauce? Next time that happens, call me. IHOP, bless their hearts, just doesn't quite get there.

Although I don't recommend taking insider trading tips from her, Martha Stewart can teach a person how to cook and egg. Her recipe for fried eggs which Mel has perfected is simple and tastes so good. [preheat a little butter and oil (keeps the butter from burning so quickly) in a skillet on medium. When you put the eggs in, turn the heat to low and cover the pan. Turn if you want to. Then eat as many as you can before you have a heart attack.]

So, there's this light, from the laptop chord, that shines an irredentist blue in the dark... I'll look at the designs of the tangled chords on the ceiling... and sometimes the light from the park streaming in thru the miniblinds. And then I just let my mind go do its thing until I'm sleepy. Occasionally, will let me noggin run around the Pancake Park for a while to tire it out. Sorry bout that. I do try and remember to clean up after it, tho.
