Today I spent both a significant amount of time alone, and time with a good friend. I experienced yet another emotionally ironic contradiction - something to which I am (happily?) becoming accustomed. I note with grave displeasure that something I crave is taking longer than usual to obtain, but am pleased that it is leading me to learning more about myself than expected.

today i worked on schoolwork, actually paying attention despite the fact that i got two hours of sleep. then i went to my friends house for a bit, helped her pick out some outfits and stuff. then we watched a bit of a bootleg dvd and then she went home. then i had an awkward phone convo with my dad, whos house i haven't been to in three weeks. and now, i'm in my bed, unable to sleep yet again... so yep, that's my day.

i dug holes to fix plumbing problems, strapped a hot water heater to a truck, filmed a short film, met with a potential employer, at steak and pie, and played racquetball. i smell terrible fom being at the gym the end

Today, I spent my morning in an eighth grade math class helping students with entry level algebra. (engineering background) what a wonderful, awkward, fidgetly age! One teacher has only has so much time to spend with 30 kids. I get to spend one on one time with students. very rewarding and I believe I am helping our greater community through volunteerism. then in the afternoon, I spent a lot of time selecting colors for a very bright lime green and purple bed quilt I am about to start piecing. beautiful color runs of light green circles in dark purple backgrounds transitioning to dark green circles in a light purple background. am excited to start cutting

from here i can see the book i'm reading, 'who ordered this truckload of dung?' by ajahn brahm (which i highly reccommend). i'm feeling excited to start a new job in a couple of weeks. and this weekend i had some good old fashioned quality time with my kids.
