it was really nice - took all the pain away - in fact it is a brilliant pain killer and worked wonders for most of my friends, shortly before they died.
dope did some of them some good too - though it was a lot harder to get,
the heroin was legal see, the dia-morphine variety,
administered by doctors - for pain.
Tobacco is where it starts... that drug kills more people in a week than heroin does in a year...

Perhaps the billboards should say "STRESS IS WHERE IT STARTS" cause i'm sure stress related problems kill more people than heroine... and most people turn to drugs because they're fricken stressed out.

The only thing detrimental that pot leads to other than poor cardiovascular health and increased risk of respiratory disease when smoked is a loss of concentration, focus and short-term concentration, focus and short-term wait what was that?

Personally, I don't smoke pot that often (my lungs are worth saving) but I do ingest it. I enjoy getting high for recreation and sometimes for good sleep. I have also experimented with psylocibin mushrooms a few times. I would never f*ck with chemicals for my own sake.

Those who protest pot should understand before they judge, or just leave it be. I don't understand how people think that continued drug experimentation is property of the drug itself. I think ignorance is more dangerous than pot. As far as LEGAL drugs go: Nicotine is addictive, straight up! I don't even have to speak on alcohol...

That statistic is totally being misunderstood.

The majority of heroin users smoked marijuana first, but the VAST majority of marijuana smokers do NOT go on to do heroin.
That's like saying having your first glass of champagne with your family at a wedding for the toast, is the gateway to becoming an alcoholic who beats his wife and children and mows down schoolkids in his car. So no champagne!
P.S. let's all cross our fingers that the health committee in CA approves the legalization bill before Friday! (Pleasepleaseplease)

If I was interested in heroin, I'd have done it. I've done everything else I wanted to. I've smoked pot, it never made me want to do something I didn't already want to. Possibly I might not have tried acid if I hadn't first smoked pot, and seen that illegal drugs aren't necessarily bad. But then that makes it a good gateway, doesn't it?

Marijuana is great! I think it's a little to much of a generalization that it leads to more dangerous drugs. It might, but in my case, outside of mushrooms, I didn't care for any other drug. I don't know many people who do anything other than pot. Coke, crystal, X, that's a whole different crowd. I've met more people like myself who have tried them but didn't care for them.

The biggest problem with marijuana isn't other drugs, it's marijuana itself. Yes, it's NOT physically addictive, but make no mistake, it's psychologically addictive. You can fall into that trap where all you want to do is get high and you let your relationships and responsibilities become second place. That's when you are an addict.
I'll still smoke it occasionally if I'm with someone, but I stopped having my own stash. If I have it myself, i'll start doing the above so I gave up having my own. But if I'm at a party or chilling at a friends and they pass it around, I'll take a hit. It's still fun when it's in the right situation. Unfortunatly for many, including myself for many years, any situation on any day is a good one and that is something now I caution against.

I think the problem is....the only way to change policy is to elect the people who believe the way you do. Where are all the pot smokers...in the fridge.

My husband recently had to take Delsym for bronchitis. He took the recommended dosage and about two hours later said he felt like he was hallucinating.

So for a mere $7, you can buy a bottle of cough medicine that will make you pretty damn loopy...and it's completely legal....but you can't buy a plant that does the same thing without nasty side effects or the possibility of an overdose. Because that makes sense.

No more than marriage leading to divorce. lol I don't think it should be illegal either way. People should be able to smoke a joint if they can smoke a cig. or have a drink.
