I'm not into the holidays. I didn't ask for anything because I always buy things for myself and there isn't anything material that I want from anyone else. Someone posted a question here on SP wondering about everyone's Christmas wish this year. I wished for my special someone to come into my life, whoever and wherever he is. I believe I'll get him and we're on our way to each other.

I asked for plenty of different movies/tv series on dvd--not that I'm hoping for all of them. I just like to give options so that the two or three ones I get are a surprise :D. I'd like the mentalist (season 1), pushing daisies (2), any how i met your mother seasons (except two), Amadeus, Finding Neverland, Harry Potter 6... Then I asked for an iHome and some iPod gift cards to get music--I don't like to buy it without gift cards cause my mom has to pay. Then Borders gift cards to go book-buying--LOVE going there. I also would like a silver claddagh ring--all my friends, all of us being irish, have claddaghs, and I have been envious of them for a while, they're cool. Then I'd like some painting supplies, been looking into that...seems to be fun. There are plenty of other things i WANT...(awesome camera--one of those big black ones that are really good/expensive, a full keyboard that's touch-sensitive, a camcorder, other stuff...) but I didn't ask for those things...I mean, I do have a job now and COULD get these things for myself...but I do have to think about the fact that I'll be needing to buy a car to get to work and school soon...Point is I'll be happy with a few things. Apologies that this was a consumeristic response but I don't think that its unrealistic for people my age to want material things. Its nice to have things. I'm much happier that my brother--whom I haven't seen in months because he's stationed in seattle being in the coast guard--is home for a week and that I get to see him than I am to receive the present he brought me. Am I happy for present? Yes. Am I ecstatic to see brother? Hells yes. Nothing wrong with both.

Peace and joy. They are the same present Christmases of long ago gave me and they are still a fresh and as vibrant many years later because I remember the reason for the season is not a celebration of materialsm masquerading as love, but to remember a very special gift given to all long ago. (Apologies if you were looking for a consumeristic response and I just spoiled the soup!)

I didn't ask for anything. With a new child and a new house to house my family, I have no interest in goo-gaws. I'm saving for the eventual home repair.

And what I'm giving? Cookies! Dad is getting a batch of his favourites (Oatmeal- white choclate chip-coconut-raisen) Everyone else gets gingerbread, becuase it's awesome. I will probably make peanut butter cookies for my brother, those are his favourite. Mum is getting some family portraits of my brother and I, and another one of my brother, his girlfriend and I. My brother paid for the pictures, I'm picking up some frames.

I asked for some good slippers (the floors in my house are really friggen cold, and my little ballet-like slippers don't cut it anymore. very sad.), a set of flannel sheets (The rest of the house is just as cold as the floor) and a duvet cover. I have a good duvet insert part, but the cover is one my ex picked out and it has this really interesting pattern. it's like white paint dripping down a red wall. Yeah. So I've asked for something a little more grown up. I will probably get socks (As always. I love getting socks from mum. She gets the best ones.), slippers and sheets (The ones I picked out at like 20$.) the cover I'm not sure on. Dad will probably give me money b/c I'm all grown up now, and he hates buying gifts. Any cash I get is going towards groceries. Yay being a broke-a*s student!

This is the first year where I've been able to say "I don't want anything" completely truthfully. It's a good feeling, being satisfied with what you have. Still, to give my friends and family something to do, I asked for a typewriter. My friend ended up finding one at Goodwill for $10. It's old, is low on ink, and is unable to type q, a, z, exclamation points, commas, and apostrophes, but I love it.

i asked for a book that my friend recommended [that i can't find here in south korea.], and a long bathrobe. nothing too fancy. i'm 25, so i don't really ask my parents for exorbitant gifts anymore.

I asked for a DNA kit so I could find out, once and for all, what breeds my dog is made up of. She's a mutt who looks like an Australian Shepherd. But she also looks like a Burnese Mountain Dog. So I want to know for sure! Who knows if I'll actually get it, though...!
