Tough to pick just one. I'd have to say either Peter Gabriel's Passion (the soundtrack to The Last Temptation of Christ) or Sigur Rós's Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust.

PM Dawn's Jesus Wept album. I consider myself spiritual rather than religious. One may think, based on the title, that it is a religious Christian album, but it's not. Then again, maybe it is. I guess it depends on how you define religion. Anyway. . .aside from liking the way the music sounds and how it soothes me, I find the lyrics to communicate spiritual messages. Listening to it takes my mind to a place where I feel centered and present. It takes me deep into thought and reflection. I just feel better when I listen to it. I've had the album since it came out in 1995 and it has only been in the last few years that I've found meaning in the songs. I suppose it's as a result of maturity and a change in my consciousness, awareness. I pay a lot more attention to things now compared to then. This album is one of my all-time favorites, never gets old.

Actung, Baby! Pay attention, folks! This is all there is. That message resonates with my soul deeply. And, for a pop album, it totally kicks a*s.

Apparently, I used to listen to the Tom Tom Club in utero. My parents were big Talking Heads fans, but only my mom liked Tom Tom Club. Also, anything John Hartford- especially "Mark Twang"- or Tom Waits. Both were frequently played during my childhood. We used to call Tom Waits the "Boogie Man"
