@discomeatpies @carlS18k @Stroob Objecting to my conclusions is one thing, objecting to my question is another. What is invalid/unreasonable about it? Nobody forced you to reply to a question you thought unhelpful or unworthy of your time. Perhaps, you do not like others engaging in conversation about this topic? I doth think you protest too much.

It's not so much original ideas but original packaging in a unique social and historical context. It's obviously heavily influenced by Judiac world view and sought to draw a hard line between itself and the Roman religious views. Within the context of Roman Palestine, Chrisitanity brought God out of the Roman occupiers hands and out of the Jewish aristocracy's hands and provided a social context where God and spirituality of the day could be experienced by the common people through the teachings of Jesus. The Bible and the exclusivist teachings that many take issue with only came later when the political landscape changed. Something wholly unique....I don't know, but name a religion or an idea on earth that is completely original, I don't think there is one.

Catholicism has borrowed a lot from pagan practices and altered it to fit their own purposes. Jesus borrowed nothing from pagan practices, I challenge you to prove me wrong.

It isn't. It's a myth. Just like all religions(discovery). Same as it ever was, same as it always will be.

@Alaeddin @jedikelb The way I have learned to understand it is, there is no rights or wrongs to the source that is God. Death is just a movement of energy from one place to another, a natural process. Societies as a whole have created rights and wrongs. An example is as simple as seeing how an act in one country is acceptable and justified, and in another could mean going to jail and being scorned. Sadly most people are not taught that a unkind act against another person is universally a unkind act towards themselves. Instead many religions fuel the idea of separation from others, and worse, the source of God. But in truth we are all connected.

Christianity is the only religion that offers forgiveness without having to earn it.

There are officially only 1 or 2 questions/discussions per "Collectives" page that are legitimate. The rest are fallacious beyond all comprehension. We, as a whole, suck at reasoning.

Isn't the term Judeo-Christian pretty common? That alone speaks to originality. Not saying one way or the other, but aren't most inventions just things that make something we already have easier, or better depending on your viewpoint?
