Interesting statistic. Where did it come from? I am not attacking you, I am seriously just curious. And also, what does he define as "truth?" Does he mean the gospel? Or does he include other truth as well?

"Since this way of thinking is so wide spread, what is your goal in life if not to discover the truth?" Who said that? Just because we don't think it actually exists doesn't mean we'll ever stop looking for it. We seek out that 'one true love,' too... even tho one could make a very convincing case that it is a contrived myth, too. And what about our 'moral principles?' Their pristine idealism seems to disappear pretty quickly where the rubber meets the road.

Absolute truth never existed or, at least, we don't know it or don't truly know that we know it. Everybody wants to learn the 'ultimate' truth and take the rest of eternity off. The pursuit of knowledge, the journey, is its own reward. Only the last and weakest definition of truth in my dictionary applies to that which can not be proven or verified. The only truth about the ultimate question is that we don't know. We don't even know if we can know. Boldly declaring that you have 'the truth' is that last, weakest definition and bears no resemblance to the others.
