As I read through these responses I'm struck by one thing, I'm struck by one thing, these issues pointed out are either 1) problems that are a part of Humanity as a whole not just specifically christians or 2) views of a miniscule percentage of practicing christians that are being applied to the whole group. Of course Christians are hypocrites, because people are hypocrites. Everyone goes against what they've been taught or what they know is right at some point in their lives. Of course christians are self righteous, narrow-minded and arrogant sometimes because that is the world we live in. and on the second point, those people from the picture and those funeral protests are from a baptist church of under 100 people, on any given sunday there are between 80 and 100 million people that go to church. How then can anyone then take the messed up vision of this church and say that it applies to the whole? Using this same logic we can say that all americans must be murderers because a larger percentage of americans commit murder than christians who subscribe to these beliefs.

As much as I don't want to lump a whole group of people into 1 stereotype, I really am glad to get this off of my chest. One of the many things I dislike about Christians is that they do not seem to be looking deeply into their belief system to find out what is really going on there (historically, biblically, & practically). If they did, I think that so much of the stuff they do and say that tends to turn people off would be transformed for the better.

What I find to be really sad is that so many people believe that people like the ones in this photo represent the majority of Christians. This is so NOT true. Most Christians, I believe, are really trying to show people the love that Jesus has shown. This type of militant Christianity is really not typical - it's just so radical and militant that it gets so much attention.

The so-called Christians in this photo obviously don't represent all Christians. These guys appear to be suffering from a case of the overly self-righteous.

The worst thing about any person is forcing views on other people. People who picket at funerals and abortion clinics and the like... well, they're scum. It doesn't matter which religion or even which system of belief they come from. No respect, no decency... it's simply base behavior.

I am a Christian and Christianity is often too broad of a label. i hate when people that profess to be Christians do something that ruins the name of Christianity and the name of Christ.

My favorite aunt always tells me, "I love you, Heidi. I'm so sad you're going to hell." She says this because I don't go to church. Everytime she says it, I think that if heaven is full of people like Fred Phelps and Christians of his ilk, I don't want to be there. I saw a t-shirt that said Love God, can't stand His fan club. I laughed and agreed completely. So many Christians give Christianity a bad name. While I do know some that are truely decent, kind, loving people...I know more that are mean, stingy, hateful, judgemental, and racist.

Christians have no right to send people to hell only because we don't have jesus as our "savior" So it's like, a person can go on a rampage and kill 50 people and even if that person kills 50 people, they will be going to "heaven" only because they have jesus in their heart. You're kidding me right?

The many Christians that kill with assumed support of God. Maybe I could post the Question "Which War would Jesus have participated in?"

I cant think of anything that I dislike about "Christians" but individuals that bash you because you don't believe or live like they do or like those in the picture who say "God" hates you when they cant possibly presume what he hates or who for that matter. I guess the hypocritical people who say God Loves everyone EXCEPT......and it makes me think, wait, aren't you spreading hatred in God's name and isn't that wrong? but hey those are individuals there's some in every group. But to say Christians as a whole, thats just as bad as them saying all people that are gay are evil etc. Isn't it hypocritical in itself to lump all the Christians together like some Christians lump other sub groups together? isn't this question lowering yourself to the level of that which you dislike?
