I would like to add that the medicinal benefits of marijuana are more than enough to rationalize leagalization of it.

I've heard lots and lots of the typical anti-drug jargon from parents and other authority figures. A lot of people say that drugs are bad even when they haven't tried them, which is a rather narrow-minded view. If somebody actually smokes marijuana and doesn't like it, then it is only bad from their perspective, they don't speak for the whole world. From my perspective there is nothing wrong with marijuana. I've tried it a couple of times and I really enjoyed the experience. I would smoke it much more if only I had a supply of it.

Weed means different things to different people. "Stoners" or people who use marijuana regularly or sometimes even idolize the plant may definetly be in a drug induced haze but the reality of things is the drug like any drug can be abused and can be used for good at the same time. A close friend of mine is bi-polar to the most extreme. She smokes whenever her mood swings negativly and it helps balance her. For her marijuana is a good thing and almost a must. For me personally, when I smoke I tend to become introverted with my thoughts. I also become far less social and usually go searching for some munchies and a place to lay down and rest for awhile. While I continue to smoke I often wonder would my productivity increase? Have I opened myself to new oppurtunities because I smoke or have I essentially shut other oppurtunities out? Smoke if you choose to. Just don't let it consume your life.

I have no idea what Maryjane is so popular ?? My opinion on this is that how can you say that the "reality" or perception that you get with drugs is real? When u are under the influence of whatever, you are not mentally present in the existing moment. So, you should ask yourself, If, my perception on my reality is disoriented, due to various subsistences, am I existing? I would say no. Why, because it's like being crazy, if you are not aware of what is really going on then you are not present mentally and that means that your perception on the world that you live in is a lie, no meaning that you don't exist, but to a point you don't, at least mentally. so, why would you want to live in imaginary land when u can live in reality and change your whole life?

I saw a lot of people in the mental hospital who eventually realised that they were in that 15% or so of stoners for whom it causes permanent serious mental health problems. (Some of them were too psychotic to ever realise anything...) I agree it is generally a lot less dangerous than alcohol and tobacco - for the health - so the odd cup of herb tea might be a good compromise... I have just grown out of it - life is high enough and exciting reality much more usefully shared whilst straight. ....and stoners are just so boooooorrring. a waste of a life beckons....

Weed is better than alcohol because it allows you to live in the moment but still have control of yourself. You can still make good choices when your high, but with alcohol it's up in the air, you don't know what you're gonna do and you can black-out or OD.

I personally hate being on a Weed High. I feel like my reality is distorted and so I feel confused, and scared... as if I've traveled to a parallel universe and I am no longer myself. This scares me. Perhaps I'm just wired differently than most everyone else...
