2012... REALLY!?!?

ok people what are your thoughts on the 2012 mihan doomsday theory how many times do we have to suffer through people saying the end of the world is coming b4 they relize....its not gonna happen. and ive done all the reasearch on this new one and as cool as it sounds i just dont think its gonna happen and unfortunatly i think were all stuck here for a long long time. what are your thoughts on 2012 are we all gonna die?

john cusack said it best on REgis and Kelly we are going to see a major shift in conciousness. The life we know on earth will end and a new life a more open connected life will begin. Its already starting now if you look around you can feel and see it everywhere.

If the Mayans were going to predict anything accurately, shouldn't they have started with the demise of their entire civilization? As far as the end of the Mayan calendar, my calendar ends December 31st. It has every year I've owned one. So far, no apocalypse. I'm betting the trend will continue.

Logically: how would the Mayans know? The variables that need to be taken into consideration in order to determine when the end of the world is are infinite.

It's the ending of a time and the beginning of a new cycle, based on observations of the stars, quit remarkable considering the technologies or lack there of. I think we all should look closer at what 2012 actually represents,there are lessons that can be learned about our very being. responses welcome

The notion that the world will end is a western one. Many modern Mayan descendants are quite annoyed with this hype.

i doubt the world will just end for no reason on 2012. but the movie looks cool :)

I read in a text book in high school that what Griz says is pretty much what happened... I read that they ran out of blocks when they were building the calender. Seriously, I think since we humans are addicted to drama, we constantly find or invent some reason to make ourselves hyper. Could it be that the Mayans thought that by the time 2012 came around that we would've blown ourselves up or been invaded by little green men or whatever. Y2K was the last big one, now this... Besides, if it really was going to be the end of the world, would mass hysteria and anarchy be the cure? Could we save our dying selves by doing anything? No, probably not.

Personally I think they just ran out of "2"s for their ancient Mayan type-setting machines and didn't want the embarrassment of a missing year -- and they figured that by the time 2012 came along we surely would be clever enough to make our own calendars and wouldn't have to rely on theirs!

hmm that would be cool XD not but it ain't gonna happen so no worries I believe that it might happen 3 or 4012 but not before
