Never had any hope that one man can fix this mess we have all created. Left or right I woulld not put my hope in some else. I keep my hope in a hope chest where it is safe from people who want to get rich selling fear.

Change is slow/ongoing/forthcoming....fading I think not. Look at where we have been, from where we have come. The political system will never be perfect, it can't be; take this website for example: Everyone came on here with the same purpose; yet we all have different views, responses and solutions. As long as people are looking for answers and asking questions you'll still have Hope/Faith that this world can change/will change.......Look at our most recent election......the involvement/coverage/voter turn-out.......whether for the right reasons or not, people took a position. I don't really think HOPE can always be fireworks......but at least a glow.

Nope! I come from a southern state, and from a family steeped in judgement and rascism. I long ago left my birthplace, and while I realize prejudice and ignorance know no borders, it has pained me to realize how hateful and hurtful my people have become. That I, (a yellow dog republican) contributed to the collective movement of our nation to move beyond color and ignorance and elect an articulate, compassionate leader of color, lit a flame of hope that daunting challenges, and frustrated progress wont soon dampen.

I know I forgot that Presidents are confined to a system and have very little power to change that system. The politics in America does not want change, but it wants power. Is hope fading...no realism is setting in.

You can see remaining problems as opportunity. I believe there are solutions just laying around waiting for us to discover them. Just open your eyes every morning- see hope is right there.

Ah...the bloom is fading. I think there is about 1000% MORE hope than with the other administration, just based on my travels to europe. I think Obama is a wonderful speaker (even if they are like teenagers in the white house..not quite sure yet) and does inspire. I'm telling you, when I went to Europe this summer I was happy to say I'm an American again. That's hopeful.
