Why does love suck?

I was completely in love with my boyfriend. I saw myself spending years with him. He was my best friend and the one person I thought I understood so well. But he told me that he didn't feel the same way about me anymore, and now I'm completely shut off from his life. How is this fair? Love stinks.

It's not fair(; lol Love isn't fair... "The power goes to whoever cares less." Unfortunately this is very, very true. Love shouldn't be about power in the least, but most of the time it is. My boyfriend of like... 3 years ago now.. Yeah, I'm still in love with him and still think that he's the one even though he doesn't give a rats a*s about me. One day, after he grows up, I think we could have a chance again. I'm thinking about calling to cops and telling them about his underaged beerfilled party though.. Is that messed up or what?

It isn't fair, life isn't fair. And love isn't worth the flickering moments of pure joy you recieve if not for the heart-wrenching times that seem like eternity. Love sucks because you are finally outside your individual revolving world, you found some one you love more than yourself and you realise that comes with some of the largest burdens and pain you can ever feel.

Love wouldn't be worth trying for if it didn't suck sometimes. The good outweighs the bad, but I know that can be hard to see sometimes. Don't let this eat you up. :( Love DOES suck...especially when you feel it and someone else doesn't. Wallow in it for a bit..eat what you want, cry, drink...scream and yell. Then, someday, look back and say "it is what it is" and try to find a new way. It's hard but at least you know most people have been through it. (and lived and are happy now. Really).

Now is the time to honor and love yourself. One human being should not grovel for the attention of another. It is not dignified. If you must suffer, suffer with dignity. In time you will feel better, but right now, you need dignity.

If there was only something that I could write that would mend your heart, you'd be reading it right now. My empathy is yours.

When your definition of "love" doesn't match up with the true definition of "Love", then you find yourself looking for something that no human being has. 1 John 4:8 says "God is love". Simple as that. People can get irritated at such simple and unbelievable an answer, but it is the only truth. When in Christ, you understand what Love was created to be. A relationship between to people who FEEL strongly about each other, will never create true fulfillment, because there will always be something that is missing. Something that neither one has.

Gosh. My Mom told us that life was not fair from before we could understand what it meant. I never expected the sea to part for me just because I had good intentions. She may have gone a bit too far with it, but its a tough lesson when you finally get it. People change their minds- it happens. You are right, its not fair, but fair has nothing to do with it. Find someone you can talk to and get your life on another track. Walk with dignity.
