Let's see. The Nobel Peace Prize was designed to also "promote and encourage" the pursuit of peace. Ergo...it's perfect. I think it's nasty people are questioning this honor given to our president. Isn't that unpatriotic? Where are the REAL AMERICANS out there! :humph: Oh, probably whooping it up that the Olympics aren't coming here. Such hypocrits, if Bush had gotten it (ahahhaha) Fox would have declared a national holiday and thrown a party at Rupert's house. Sad, sad sad.

Its not only good for him but for America in general. Obama has considerably helped change the way many people from different countries are starting to view America as a whole. He has exceeded of what was expected from him in terms of foreign relations i think. And there really is no logical reason why many americans should be complaning that Obama was not worthy of this award. Its mostly just extremist who will try to point out that hes not deserving, but they more than likely will have no idea who the candidates for the award were. It will be interesting to see what FOX NEWS has to say about this. Im sure they will find numerours reasons why Obama is not deserving, but who knows maybe they wont. And Obama is in decent shape if you consider what most of the other politicians look like.

Congrats Obama, you're paving the way for a better America. Republicans step aside. I'm tired of my fellow classmates who are so twisted in their minds that the thought of having a black president who won a Nobel Piece Prize is a disgrace for America. Newsflash: This man has plans that will help save this nation. What have you done my small-town classmates? I love Barack Obama!

I'm loving that I can now say that the Republicans and the Taliban have one more thing in common.

I don't really know much about what he's done (though I've heard criticisms recently that it's not much) but I do respect what he HAS done (for the most part) and the way he not only sees the importance of diplomacy, but encourages other countries too as well. Sure, his "talks" may not have accomplished much as yet, but that's the thing about talks: they take longer, but in the end, little by little, they often work much better and get more accomplished. Whether or not he's really deserving of this immense honour at the moment, I'm sure he'll see this as motivation to live up to it in the coming months and years.

I think there may have been better Nobel prize candidates, but is more annoyed by all the manufactured outrage about the decision. We weren't talking about the Nobel prize yesterday. We weren't placing bets and having exciting conversations about the short list of people we thought we would wake up today and find out had won. If you think that you're upset about this, you probably actually aren't. At least not as much as you're being enabled to be by others. I'd like someone to tell me, without Googling the other candidates or retroactively researching, who they think should have won. A lot of people are mad. A lot of others want to use this to their agenda. It's not like this helps Obama, nor was it is anything he anything to do with. The WH seemed pretty shocked. I was certainly surprised, but many of the reactions I've seen have been hard to take serious. It would be dishonest for me to say that I wish it would have gone to someone else, because I am not up to date on the other nominees, and retroactively picking one now would draw unfair comparisons. I do sincerely feel a certain regret that this kind of reward/acknowledgment couldn't come later in his career. I think he'll do big things.... Read More Maybe he'll take it as a merit of duty. At least, that's what I want him to do with it.

He's set a record of 16 countries visited in his "not even finished" first year. He's done more "action" based proposals than I've ever seen with Pres. Bush, he's determined and he really does have the peoples best in mind. Now whether or not you see how he had or had not earned this award, you have to at least admit that his presidency is monumental and inspiring to so many people, how could he not effect the world?
