common infatuation is caused by our mind. thats just you know the highschool crushes. however i believe that true love is something from the soul, when it is attracted to another soul. its something totally unknown that we can only hope to understand one day. honestly. why is the heart related to love? it has no neural activity or anything so it cant think like the brain. its just a muscle that keeps us alive haha

I beleive it is the brain in the case of unrequited love, but in true love it is the heart (or our soul).

Ooo, completely different question: Why do hearts ache? Because we make the decision to love and don't get the same in return. But what is the purpose of life if not to love? I'd say that the heart ache we go through due to our stupid hearts is well worth it...

It's our soul...or true self, or our inner thingy-ness....nothing to do with any particular lump of flesh.

Depends on your view of love. Some "feel love" as an emotion, which would make it our brains fault. But others choose love. I believe our hearts and souls choose to love. Stupid heart.
