Please realize it is the cutest responsibility you will have until children. They are cute, relentless in their love and mischief, funny as hell, warm/caring and totally and completely dependent on you. In other words, yes.

Be PREPARED! Have you ever owned a dog before in your life? If not, take caer of someone's dog for about a week or 10 days. And get something you can deal with, a breed that suited to your lifestyle. Don't put it in a crate all day if you work...they take a ton of time. A TON.

maybe. before you do, though, try this: wake up each morning at 8am. go for a walk around the block. change out a bowl of water. then, in the late afternoon make sure you are home to take another walk around the block. before you go to bed, change out the water again. good luck!

Being able to afford dog food is only part of what should be consider. Can you afford routine health care--rabies shots and so on? Can you afford to pay for a license is one is required where you live? What about flea and tick treatments? Can you offer the dog a space to be outside which is safe for the dog and any neighbors? And what about your neighbors? Are they dog people, or might introducing a dog into the neighborhood create problems? Do you have the time to devote to properly training the dog? Do you have the time to clean up after it? Do you have the time to take it for a walk as often as possible? Do you have space in your home for a full-grown dog? Do you have belongings you don't want to see damaged, destroyed, or coated in dog fir? Puppies are adorable, but you're making a commitment to care for and love this puppy for as long as it lives. If you're lucky that could be 10-15 years, maybe more.
