I would leave the city. I am not very materialistic and prefer having as little as possible. If my job was to look after myself and my family, that would be the best. You are out on your own looking after yourself and your own. Dependent on no one but yourself. Your work constantly pays off directly to you. Hardly any middle man with money and a supermarket.

I lived in a very rural area until I was 18. What makes you think that life isn't hard? It may be less hectic but it's still fillled with the same stuff you have to do in the city. Just takes longer to drive there, there's more lawn to cut, less restaurants (more home cookin) and hunters, 4wheelers and chickens to deal with. Well, in some places :)

The difficulty for me is the dearth of the sorts of jobs I do out in the booonies. Otherwise, I'd go in a heartbeat.
