If George Bush said he was going to double the deficit, would you have still approved of him?

Reason...Obama has promised this and many more things equally as idiotic. Though his approval rating is dropping, he still remains around a 49%. Just wondered if George Bush, or any other president would get the same halo treatment.

It's funny, I had a friend the other day b*tch about how the press treats Obama like a saint and then rattle off things he's done. I asked him, where did you see this stuff at? His reply, CNN. The press and others are treating the President in not the nicest light, believe me, if you watch CNN and pay attention you will see they don't always praise him. Watch Fox News and you will see they rarely ever have much nice to say about him. Meanwhile in the W. era if I were to disargee with President W., I would be blasted with... well you can't tell what a President did till after four years. Now that he's out of office and left with the country in debt I'm told it's 8 years...hell I had someone declare that 29 years since he left office we are still feeling the fallout of President Carter. So maybe Obama still holds around the 50% approval (I say 50 because I was taught to round up) because well people haven't judged him by 7 months as President. Of course with any President, W. or Obama...some people didnt even give him one minute before they decided

I didn't approve of much of anything GW did, I will refrain from saying anything else about him. Would any other president have gotten the "halo treatment"? I don't know. I'm not sure this is an accorate reflection of how the press is treating Obama.
