I think it is a choice.

No. Feelings change and you can't always control that. Certain choices you make and choices that your partner makes effect the outcome of your relationship.

I totally depends on what we were originally "in love" with. Were we in love with how being with them made us feel? Were we in love with the way they "completed us"? Personally I maintain that love is something that is far greater than simple passion, feelings, intimacy, sex -- it is greater than us. As a Christian, I fall back on the Biblical definition of love as something that is patient, kind, not jealous conceited or self-serving -- is something that always endures, always preserves, always heals, never fails. So if I have something that I think is love and it fails, then I must at least consider that it was not the real thing to begin with and perhaps some form of self-service masquerading as the real thing.

no. losing affection for someone happens naturally. the "honeymoon" period wears off. And then you have to work at it. If you both work at it, it's also called love. Because the English language doesn't recognize the difference. Lame.
