We're influenced by everything around us, whether we realize it or not. We see and respond to things. If people couldn't affect our outward appearances, there would be no trends or fashion industry. Just hope that all your friends have practical but impeccable taste. :)

@scrambledeggos I totally understand and sympathize with your answer! And I think what helped me through that awkward phase is that I don't know a girl who didn't feel that way in high school.

It seems like most people say yes, but I know that I can say no. My best friends and I are completely different people, and if you look at us, you wouldn't even guess the three of us are best friends. Allison is tall, preppy, and pretty. Jin is short, has her Korean features etched into her face, and enjoys her grungy wardrobe. I am in the middle, shorter than Allison, taller than Jin. I wear my glasses at all times, I like to look nice, but not preppy (i'm more of a band-tee and skinny jeans kind of girl) and I usually have a book in my hands. This is the greatest thing I love about our friendship; we're diffrent people, but that doesn't mean we don't have anything in common on the inside.

Yes .... But in the end it takes Your Own Will to realize how much more important it is to follow Your intuition on what's best for You. Don't be afraid to be Yourself, it can set the example for the rest of them, if they are paying attention.
