I've been in two interracial relationships. In both, there was always something deeply separating us. Now, I am dating within my race and its the best relationship I've ever had. Both have dated outside their race in the past and it was never really a big deal. But there were a few levels we just couldn't connect on.

I haven't been in an interracial relationship, but my perspective on it is pretty well aligned with braxtonrob's very realistic outlook on the subject: "They're harder than you think they're going to be! You have to have A LOT in common with someone, as well, you definitely need to have pretty much the exact same opinion about race-related issues. Its an uphill climb, but it can most certainly be done."

They are so beautiful. I truly believe interracial marriages are manifestations of the possibility of world peace. Racism is the evil that is dividing and has divided the world for as long as time and for two people of opposite races to join their souls and their families in a promise of love and commitment just proves how capable we as humans are of uniting the world.

To me an interracial relationship is just a relationship. If two people love each other and they are two different races that is fine with me because I believe it to be true love. You cant help who you love and who you are attracted to, love is the way to go no matter what their race is

Race is a meaningless human construct. We are all the same species. Any coupling can be said to be "interbreeding" as sexual reproduction depends on diversity. That is the power of our method of reproduction. For example, I've got German, Dutch Irish, Blackfoot, etc. in my lineage. If any of the cultures (and that's what we really mean when we say "race") had had a taboo against breeding with any of the other races of which I am a composite, there would be no me. As I look at so-called "mixed" children I see fresh, new beings who have benefited biologically from their genetic diversity. And that's neat.

Some years ago I started noticing that children of interracial relationships were so often stunningly beautiful in physical appearance. I always felt like that was an important message we should be paying attention to.

Not even an issue. If two people love each other, who cares what their ethnicity is?

Are not all of them interracial relationships? Irish mom, norwegian dad, italian grandmother...oo and someone off the Spannish Armada . The fact that all human life originated in Africa should help us swallow our miserable pride. We are all African at source.

It's just like same-sex relationships. The only problems with it are the people that have a problem with it trying to interfere.
