What a great question! We need a thread for defining enlightenment. I think I will post that. Meanwhile, what you have posted there sounds "enlightened" to me! Well, I suppose there is a difference between an enlightened statement, an enlightened moment, and an enlightened individual. Perhaps an enlightened person is someone who tends to elevate those around them, so it is more "in the eye of the beholder" so to speak. That would help me deal with the willies I get when I hear that Madonna claims to be enlightened. If she is claiming it, I don't have to take her word for it! Yay! I'm free!

We spend our lives trying to unlock the mystery of the universe, but there was a Turkish prisoner, Bahá'u'lláh, in Akka, Palestine who had the Key. ~ Leo Tolstoy yeah I'd say he was pretty enlightened

What I find very interesting about Tolstoy is when, in 1908, he wrote: " We spend our lives trying to unlock the mystery of the universe, but there was a prisoner, Bahaullah, in Akka who had the key... Bahaullah's teachings now present us with the highest and purest form of religious teachings...Very profound, I know of no other so profound." I discovered Leo Tolstoy recently, and I am reading his writings... mostly on Google.
