I miss the lack of responsibility, and the ability to stay home and color or watch TV all day. I would kill for that now, to not have to answer for anything, not be depended on for anything, for a coloring book to replace a textbook. Maybe for just a day.

thinking your mum was perfect and when the biggest problem was worrying whether or not you would be able to go to your friend's house to play dolls.

The sense of mystery about the world, everything seemed huge and complicated and foreign, but I think there's still plenty of mystery left, oh and naps which i hated at the time, and recess

Playing with my cousins outside till it got dark. We had so much fun, no need for TV or any of those modern day gadgets. Just a bunch of kids playing hide and go seek.

Running back and forth across the street to friends' houses all day long. Playing made up games with our toys and having a blast. The nice clothes my mother used to make for me. Seeing how high we could climb in trees Having roller skate races. Bikes with banana seats. Captian Kangaroo & Mr Green Jeans Eating fish sticks and tater tots with wild abandon Dragging my little brother from room to room in his car seat, so my mom could take a nap. Bunk beds. The dogs at Grandma's house. Running back and forth between my Grandmas' houses (they were next door neighbors!) Making "nests" out of pine needles at the Ranch. Sliding down the snow hills on a car hood. The Gold Chevy Impala we used to have --with green naugahyde interior -- stylin! My HeeHaw overalls Riding the bus home from school because our driver was bald like my dad. Making the solar system in the driveway with my Dad out of citrus fruit. Sandbox volcanos Swimming lessons Arts and Crafts class all summer long

The simplicity of everything. I was oblivious to most things, like "grown up" problems. My biggest issue was which color crayon I should use. Self confidence, money, relationships, etc. weren't an issue.
