Multiple reasons, but most immediately, because the brain in which the essence denoted by the words, Rainn Wilson, lives, produced a thought, which, through some strange series of occurences, became a desire, which then translated into a reality, which I - another thing with a name - am now utilizing, because I derive a satisfaction from writing. To exist means to be, which really means to be percieved, or to possess the features of what constitutes an actual thing: substance, body, tangibility. I think drawing existential lines can be difficult. A hypothetical: a friend, Maria, dies. I see her body, but it is no longer living and the person, the stuff, denoted by the word Maria, which I only knew through the actions perpetrated by the body, is no longer present, so I declare that which was Maria - was is very important here - to no longer exist. The totality of this designation, though, rests entirely on my perception. As such, I declare perception to be the queen mother of existence: to be is to be percieved.
