Just wanted to add a P.S. comment to what I previously wrote. All those 'bunnie rabbits" that kept showing up in word, print, TV, etc. were already "out there". It is just that my attention to it made me notice they were there. Kind of when you first buy a car, suddenly you begi to notice all the other cars the same make and color as the one you just bought. They were always already out there, you just now notice them more. So, yes, in a way I manifested there appearance, but like all things, they were already there just waiting for me to discover them. I DO however, think there are signs that do manifest for us. The day my husband died; earlier that day I noticed a dead bird lying outside his window. Coincidence? Well, it has happened to me before. I am sure many others have had their own private experiences and stories that show they are not ALL our own wants. old lady hypnotist

This is a most interesting to come up at this time. Suddenly over the past few weeks bunny rabbits kept showing up in my reality in print, TV, radio pictures, etc. Even from this web site, some commercials, Johny Deep's new movie Alice in Wonderland. Even my cousin had described me as a powerful dagon in Chinese astrology and he was just a bunny rabbit and that I could roast him and eat him before he could ever make it to his bunny hole to safety. So, I was thinking this must be some kind of omen because it was just getting out of hand. So, I decided to ask "to whom it may concern" what this meant. Woke up the other morning to get this answer: "If you want it or need it to be an omen you can, but we would suggest that this was to get your attention that since you started the vibration of a bunny rabbit and kept giving so much attention to it, each vibration became more powerful and so it kept manifesting in your reality. You created it from your attention to it. This was supposed to prove to you how powerful you are in the Art of Manifesting" This was shocking to me and reaffirming at how good I am at manifesting things in my life. So good at it at times, that some have asked me to teach how I do it. So any doubts I had about reality and our role in it, was reaffirmed. In a way it was a sign from the Universe to me. I I believe that sometimes they are inseparable. The Universe 'winks' at us in all sorts of ways and if there is a deep need or want within us why shouldn't the Universe take that and run with it? If you are genuine in your intention to reach a certain goal whether that be a new job, a new love, or a new home, then you may very well receive a sign from the Universe. I truly think that most signs we receive stem from our wants and needs even if we don't know it yet (unconscious desires). Ultimately I believe that the Universe (or God) wants us to be happy and will put up signs to show us the way. It's up to us to learn how to tune in and pay attention so we catch these glimpses/signs (or 'winks' as I like to call them).

If it hits you like a pound of bricks, it's the universe. If "the more you think about, the more it makes sense, because it's just so coincidental that the lemons were here and we made lemonade TOGETHER three years ago so I should soooo call his mom and find out where he lives because it probably means he's single-this is so cosmic," then it's probably you. Reading into things only goes so far, until you're reading the copyright and the footnotes and all the stuff that has nothing to do with the message, just how it was put together. Get deep when you want. Just don't make major decisions based on this. Unless, you know, you like to fly by the seat of your pants. I'm so glad I came across this question. I that I'm struggling with determining the difference as well. Particularly since some of what I believe to be the "signs" or answers I've received to the questions I've asked seemed to be the answers I wanted. Self-fulfilling, I suppose? Having read some of the responses here, I feel a little "clearer" about the ambiguity. I'm referring to zamfir's point (about us being a part of the Universe, so the distinction between sings it gives us and our wants not being so clear), livingthedream's idea that the two are one in the same, and kensho's statement that we are the sculptor and the universe is our clay. I have tended to separate myself from what I'm receiving and I'm beginning to realize that I cannot, for the very reasons stated by the members above. I'm still putting it altogether, but getting much closer to making sense of it. Thanks for the insight!

I should point out that we are a part of the Universe, so the distinction is not quite as clear as we'd like to believe.

As humans I believe we do not know what we truly want. But, when there lies a feeling so great that it motivates you to take on the world, then you have your answer. But

I would like to think they are one in the same. Regardless of origin, there is an understanding we should be gaining from these signs.

The only way I know, is to let the dust settle and see how things work out. I believe in every situation there is an outcome that is the best case scenario not just for myself but for all involved -- perhaps for Humanity in general. We are all connected. Life for me is a process of learning when my wants/needs are in line (or close) to the universe's wants/needs so that my solutions are the universe's solutions. A solution that puts us (personally, collectively) at odds with the universe was more of our own projected wants, so I look back and take note of any "signs" I took as indicators of a path that should be followed and note they were selfish in origin. It is a process of knowing myself. True signs need to be interpreted as purely as possible -- yet my default nature is to try to skew everything in my favour. It is a process of getting my default nature under control, so I can participate in a nature greater than just self.
