Yes. He is the only celebrity I know of with such an eclectic style of music, who is actually famous for it. The soundtracks he designs contain music not only fitting to the scene, but unique as well. To name a few of my favorites: "Garden State", "The Last Kiss", "Scrubs" (all seasons)... I'm probably biased though, based on the fact that I share the same style of music interest as him. But if Zach Braff's music collection has affected me this much, to where some of my favorite songs and artists he supports (and I got from him) are a part of my daily life, I would call that inspiration.

Never... until I saw Garden State. It wasn't so much of his acting or the movie, but the moment "Written and Directed by Zach Braff" appeared on the screen. I got chills and slightly teared up.

Zach Braff's character on Scrubs (J.D.) introduced the concept of bromance to my teenage son's world. He inspires me in this way.

I agree with a lot of the people who have posted. I don't know him personally, so can I really answer? But I will say that Garden State inspires me. Visually, it's a beautiful movie. The characters are played wonderfully, and I think it's really nice that Braff wrote, directed, and starred in the movie. Sometimes there's no other way; sometimes you're the only person who could play the character the right way. The way they're supposed to be. So...His work does, because I can't really say if he does personally.

After reading some of these posts, I have to wonder if Zach Braff posted this question himself.

I think this question is really quite unfair. What do most of us really know about him? We know JD or one of the many other characters he's played, but does everyone out there in this web wacky world know him personally? I think the types of people who inspire us are people like teachers and parents and really really good friends. Once in a while, some of us connect with a Hollywood character in a way that inspires us, but that character was first the inspiration of a writer, then cleaned up by an editor, or director, and then played out by an actor, filmed by a camera crew, then cleaned up by again another editor. I'm sure there are many other people who go into that process. But, as an actor, I'm inspired by his hard work and dedication to his craft. His success is a testimony to his perseverance and his gift for acting. Go Zach. Keep up the good work and keep the laughs coming. All the Best, Break a Leg!

I really don't like the fact that I go to this website to escape such things as materialism and celebrity worship and here is a question asking if Zach Braff inspires me. How has he done anything inspiring to anyone? I enjoy his work in Scrubs and Garden State but the only thing I hear about him is that is a cocky jerk who screws women left and right. Very inspiring indeed.

Completely. The point of the movie Garden State is that we shouldn't hide from our emotions; Zach Braff's character is so numb because of all his medication that he feels nothing, and in a way it makes him more miserable than any sadness ever could. So Garden State taught me to embrace my emotions, even the not-so-nice ones, because they're each beautiful in their own way. They sum it up perfectly in one of the songs on the soundtrack ("Let Go" by Frou Frou) - "There's beauty in the breakdown"
