The blind form detailed mental images based on scent, sound, and touch. Their perception of each sex would be based on that; sound, mostly, I would wager, because I doubt people would want to be manhandled. And I'll agree on the pheremones. Scent is one of the most powerful sensations after all.

I don't think sight has anything to do with it LOL I agree with Chiron, in the darkness you would still know who ur attracted to..how could it just be visual?

Briefly, if you were in a pitch dark room, in bed with a woman and a man at the same, you would know which one you're sexually attracted to. Unless you're bi or asexual, in which case you might be confused. Sexual preference is hard-wired into us.

I asked this question thinking I could get some thoughts on the ways image plays a part in falling in love. You ladies seem to think that it doesn't, but guys know is does, and it matters. If you are blind, what attracts you to someone else? If you say kindness, toned of voice or feel of skin, then isn't that so subjective? Many feel our sexuality is not subjective, but we are born with it. I'm just sayin'...

there is much much more to sex than visual observation. i think the visual sense is almost an afterthought as far as sexual attraction goes. it's usually the "vibe" that is being sent out that gets the sexual attraction going. seeing helps, but it's not the deal breaker.

We were born with 5 primary senses.. and people that lack one generally use the senses that aren't often expounded upon - one being intuition. Sight is not a major factor as to why humans are attracted to one another; A person may not be "attractive", but they are humorous, positive, outgoing, intellectual, intelligent, etc., and this draws people to them. Pheromones also play a large part in attraction. Many studies indicate that humans are born with a sexual preference, therefore, sight has nothing to do with hetero or homosexuality. As with any relationship, it is a matter of how you relate to another on a soulful level. Anything less is a shallow form of thought.

I think love goes beyond physical appearance. So even a blind person can find the person they belong with be it man or woman.
