question

Ever felt like you've pointed yourself in the wrong direction?

Have you ever thought you knew what you wanted only to find it wasn't what you expected at all? I just graduated from college and was lucky enough to get a job in the field I've spent the majority of my life wanting: filmmaking. But, now that I'm here, I don't feel like it's the right place for me. It's mostly a conflict of personality: the job demands quick-thinking, articulate, decision-makers and that's just not me. I love watching films, writing and working with cameras, but the social and mental demands leave me in over my head. And I feel so guilty, because I have many friends that are struggling to get a job like mine and I feel like they could make better use of it. Maybe I'm still adjusting to my current environment, but right now I'm thinking that I've made a big mistake. Maybe I'm not cut out for this. Has something like this happened to you? How did it make you feel? What did you do to steer yourself in the right direction?

What do you think?
