to me, my art is a way of expressing how i feel at that moment, not always having do do with prayer. it usually takes me a while to decipher what it means.

My art form is massage. My prayer for those I lay my hands on: more peace, more life, more balance, more joy, more breath, more love, in them, through them, and on to the next.

Prayer..a conversation with God. Hope. Love. Peace amidst chaos. The beauty of the Creator, reflected in everything I do and create. Theatre, music...expressions of beauty, in its most natural form. By giving Him back the gifts I've been given, and treating my art as prayer..being, thinking, loving, giving, it is an expression of gratitude and loving others through the sharing of the art.

The struggle comes from when we forget that other people are human, just like us. I wish to help people remember that everyone feels, hurts, lives the same. I want to bring the essence of being human back to a technological world.

For me, and especially through improvisation, dance is a platform for expressing the spirit. Whatever that spirit may be, the dancing will reflect that. I have never seen such pure movement as when fellow dancers are improvising. It feels close, intimate, like I finally know who they truly are.

When I make art it is because I feel that the most powerful force in the world is imagination, and I want to honor that by creating something that inspires others to be more imaginative.

I wish for people to begin questioning their purpose, engaging themselves in the world around them, and being inspired to create and experience; vital portions of the human element.

I do a lot of surrealistic stuff that may seem like a random mess of incoherent ideas but what I don't tell people is what the real meanings behind all of them are. All them come about from experiences or people that I know it's sort of like me trying to make sense out of it all. It helps me realize what I really think about something or someone in my life

I believe art should be extremely personal and abstract. Literally whatever you're feeling in that specific time is what should be seen in whatever you're doing. This is basically what I live by, whether they are drawings, music, or pictures.

My art is very personal to me. I am not trying to sell it or even convey a message to anyone in particular. I just like to express myself in a way that means something to me. I gain from that, a moment of transcendence which is not achievable through the spoken word. It's a spiritual experience and for me, brings me closer to whoever or whatever is God. It's non-conceptual.

I just hope that my art touches someone in some way. Makes them happy, makes them think differently, inspires them to do something different in their lives.

Most of my poetry is written to evoke empathy. I want people to feel in 3 minutes what another may feel in a lifetime. Imagery is important. It's like hearing a micro movie. I wrote a piece about schizophrenia and a woman at the end of my set walked up to me and said..."I grew up with someone with schizophrenia. Thank you for writing this and helping people understand what it feels like to live inside of that person." I purposely write about the hard stuff. I want people to remember. So maybe the next time they walk by a homeless man, they will see the little boy that he used to be and they will remember that somewhere he has a mother and father who miss him.

I've noticed recently that there are certain subjects that I often deal with in my poems and drawings. They're usually about nature and our responsibility towards the environment. And even though most of my poems are humoristic and tell about inanimate objects, they often deal with something deeper, like empathy, consideration... Generally I like to create positive art. I suppose the same could be said about the way I pray. I try to stay hopeful

The thing is that the prayer behind my heart (meant to write art but it came out of my hands as "hear"t instead) is something that can't be said in words. If it could then I would say it in words and not in pictures.
