This is a close up picture of some corm I'm growing in the southwest desert. Its coming along pretty well, the cluster of little pods staring to poke out the middle are the tassels. These pods open up and pollenate the silks that are growing on the sides of the stalks of corn. This produces the ears. Nature is crazy cool!

I snapped this while out and about photographing flowers not long ago. At first, I did my typical spider sighting screech and jumped away from it but then I REALLY looked at it. And once I did, I realized how beautiful it was and was mesmerized by the intricacy of the web it was building. I must've sat with that spider 45 minutes or more watching it weave.
