This image is of a cross section of Marram Grass under a microscope. Phil Gates, a botanist at Durham University in the UK and a Guardian Country Diarist was kind enough to allow me to share it. 

A simple blade of grass and it's one of the most beautiful sites I think I've witnessed in quite some time. It reminded me that on a daily basis, I am missing out on so many things that I might be able to see more deeply if I just took a minute to do it.
