To always write from a voice of authenticity. If it's not something that I would say in normal conversation, whether it be with a friend, colleague, or even a dialogue within my own thoughts--I don't write it.

Embrace ambivalence.
In other words, there is an idea in our culture that to feel two different ways about the same thing is wrong. For example, I was listening to a This American Life about a woman who was really good at hiding her prosthetic arm. Ira Glass thought it was strange that she seemed to be both proud of how good she was at hiding it and ashamed that she didn't just own it.
But that's the natural state of being. We will find more peace not when we try to just feel one way about everything in our lives. We will find peace when we discern the contradicting forces within them, see them all and make choices that satisfy one part of ourselves and not another without any sort of denial.
Illustrating this state of internal uncertainty and outward decisiveness is what interests me. Helping the world to understand that ambivalence - not wishy-washiness, but real internal conflict - is the way of the world and is not only inescapable but beautiful in its own way.
That's my mission.

Scitzo--Silencing the Voice Inside My Head. My journal is my artistic expression of who I am that day and what thoughts, feelings and desires are speaking. The more I write, the more voices appear and they change rapidly. My goal is to recognize the many voices that speak through me and to cipher out and choose which ones I want to guide me though the day. Who is speaking? Why do they challenge me? What is it they want from me? Is it the real me? Each day a new teacher appears. Each day a new lesson. Many teachers, many lessons. I will forever be a student discovering the many possibilities of living here on Earth in this physical body, along with all of my many voices in my head. Living until there is only one voice that is ME!

I love the feeling when you just fall in love with a story, a character, or even just a sentence. When it hits you just right and you have to read it over and over again. If I can elicit that feeling in just one person then I know my writing has done it's job. If I can make a single person laugh, cry, or simply smile at something I have written then it has served it's purpose.

I have lived and traveled the world by the seat of my pants. It is my duty to see,do,and feel as much as I possibly can in this lifetime. The world was created for us to do this, and I will never shirk my duty,...until I can no longer see,no longer walk,no longer feel. Until I am dead.Along the way,I will write what has inspired me to do so.

Personal Manifesto for my book, blog, videos and writings...is get humans to accept differences using the global medium of the internet and virtual worlds. First stop: Relationships
Love online is a taboo. Yet it is engaged in, enjoyed & mourned by millions in silence.
So the book is to de-stigmatize the virtual communication that has now become a part of our modern technological society. Locating the value and usefulness of our virtual connections, along with the proper level of skepticism which will allow this medium to function for all that seek to connect.
I so hope this helps! Hugs..Pam

I am writing my artistic manifesto. Delete if you must.
First I begin with Picasso, "Good artists copy, great artists steal" then Marina Abramovic's "An artist must make time for the long periods of solitude".
I have no desire to change the world or people with my writing or art if it is fictional. But change is impossible to do without. Why so afraid of causing a tiny ripple in the universe? Who am I to say that the words I write will have a negative effect or a positive effect in the long run?
Stay open to everything. Remain a child always. Let go.

I write to understand who I am beneath the surface. To delve deep into my essence self. To know I am not alone in my quest to understand there is more to life, to us than meets the eye. I write because I am a writer. An explorer. A believer in spreading love, light and peace. I write because I am.

To capture the beauty of existence by revealing its raw truth. To leave nothing out that is true; not the pain, not the joy, and not even the ridiculous and silly, because it's all a part of what makes life so amazing.

This is some much needed advice, and I'll definitely be chewing on it for a while. If I don't overthink it, my first belief is that all men are created equal (hmm...catchy...) and I want to write pieces that wake people up to humankind's need for social equilibrium w/o being all "Viva La Revolucion!" about it. The other manifesto-worthy ideal I have is my belief that there was a man named Jesus who lived & was put to death by religious foks. According to him, we're all accountable for that (*gulp*). I'd like to explore this in my writing but, man -- it's a scary one. To quote Prince: Con-tro-ver-sey! Oh, and I love animals so....WAIT...EUREKA -- Scratch "All men are created equal" and make it "All beings are created equal"! When the earth was created, man co-existed with animals; they did their thing, and we did ours. I believe there are reasons for this and much our species can learn from each other. Thanks, Soul Pancake, for helping me to tackle that! Will continue chewing...

I try to share some of the real me, to share my honest voice; this is such a challenge, since I am so used to being blindfolded and muted. Nonetheless, I will never give up making an effort to express my true self, the living me, the fun me, the interesting me, regardless of the attempts to squash. Sorry squashers, I have come to know what I really am, and intend to be it, show it and even flaunt it! I am now a member of the Muse Fan Club, and I am blossoming!!!
