It's hard for me to make statements like this, but I feel like you helped me conquer my biggest fear. Definitely, thank you.

I would like to thank my old boss he is one of the rudest, mean and arrogant doctors you will meet. He would scream at you call you horrible names in front of coworkers and patients. I kept asking God what this for? Finally I knew, I was not being the best mother and wife that I could be and I'm still not (trying daily). But his bad behavior has helped me to change mine and for this I am grateful. I still loose my patients but not as often and when I do I'm trying to treat everyone else the way I want to be treated.

Awesome video, for starters. My shout-out has to go to my mom. She's beautiful and has always encouraged me. My mom has always had it rough. She's the oldest of her siblings, experienced a bad divorce between her parents, and was unable to further her education as an adult. She managed to raise my brother and me into a couple of pretty good people. She's always been self-sacrificing and optimistic through it all. I love you, Mom! Some day I will thank you face to face. Until then I just hope I make you proud.

Alot of people in life tell us we should be a certain way. We should be humble, polite, selfless and I'm not saying that they're wrong, but every now and then we find someone who looks at us just a little bit differently. Someone who doesn't care what you do for a living as long as you're happy, who tells you when you do something right and loves you completely - for your weaknesses as much as your strengths. They are able to see these flaws as not only part of who you are, but integral stepping stones towards your own personal growth and development. They are aware that everyone has obstacles they face in life, and doesn't try to push you away from them, but nevertheless are always there to hold your hand. They love you exactly as you are, no conditions or limits, and you know you will always feel the same.

I would like to thank my mom for telling me that being pregnant with me was the worst time of her life. Now, this may sound harsh (and believe me, I thought so too at first), but she was being honest. And for her telling me this, I was brought a whole new awareness about my mom and all the sacrifices she's ever made for me and my brother. See, my mother is from S. Korea. She met my crazy French-American father on one of his visits there and they fell in love. He wooed her with The American Dream and made promises of a brighter future. So she flew on an airplane for 12+ hours from Korea to the US while 6mos pregnant with me. She came to a country she had never been to before, where she didn't speak the language, and the only person she knew was my father. I think about how hard this must have been for her. I think about all that she struggled through in order to give her children a better life and to be with the man she loved. She never complained and handled everything with such grace and hopefulness. I can only hope it was all worth it.

I was an abused child. My mother was diagnosed schizophrenic when I was eleven. I was the target of her rage. My Aunt Rita and Uncle Edward would come to visit us periodically and noticed that I was withdrawing more and more every day. When my mother brought us to Cleveland, Ohio where she was from, we went over to My aunt and Uncles home. Uncle Edward had the worlds most extensive record collection, with a particular emphasis on classical music and opera. His ritual after dinner was to go into his music room ( the living room)alone and sit in his recliner listening to his music with his eyes closed. after dinner one visit, Uncle Eddie asked me" Patty, how would you like to come listen to music with me?" No one else had ever been asked! My feet didn't even touch the floor when I sat on the couch. Uncle Eddie put a symphonic piece on the stereo and then told me," Close your eyes and "see" the music." I not only became a professional musician later, but he saved my life. I knew that I was lovable, and worth spending time with. Thanks Uncle Eddie.

Dear Mom & Dad,
Thank you for giving up your dreams just to make my own possible. Thank you for working your fingers to the bone just to give me the education I always dreamed of. Thank you for being open and caring human beings, and always being available to listen to my concerns even if they were exaggerated. Thank you for being over-protective, and asking me the tiniest of details regarding my plans. Thank you, mom and dad, because although you never had to do any of this... you did anyway. I love you both.

Thank You ex-flame who's name I can't even type, who broke my heart - open. And caused a clean up in aisle seven on my self esteem. This mess added jet fuel to my spiritual journey.

Thank You ex-flame who's name I can type - Patrick! - because the gentleman you were treated me like the lady I am.
Thank You Jack for choosing me to be your Mother. You're the best kid in the world.

Mitchell, thank you for all of your help, you have helped me grow in more ways then I can count. You walked in at just the right time and showed me I was worth something to the world and myself. For the many things to many to list all my love and thanks, S

Thank you, Miss Gloria, for teaching me dance for so many years. Thank you for not lecturing me when I saw you for the first time in ages and explained to you my strained relationships with my siblings and my nonexistent relationship with my father. Thank you for listening and for understanding and accepting the person I've become. Thank you for being proud of me for not conforming to the mold and doing what I'm told. Thank you for letting me step into your dance studio again after 10 years to twirl baton for a few minutes. Thank you for being the most true, honest person I know.

Thank you to Theodor Geisel (Dr. Seuss). Your books were read to me from a very young age and made an indelible imprint. I love reading and writing because of your work.

Thank you to EVERYONE who have ever doubted me or treated me in a negative way. You fuel my fire and I am forever blessed for your narrow-mindedness :)

My mom would be the obvious person to thank, but I'm going to go off the path a little and thank my family friend, Bernie.
